Mini Moderns Enamelware Launch
Inspired by their personal collection of mid-century Scandinavian cookware, the Mini Moderns enamelware range follows in the tradition of combining great colour and pattern with quality and practicality.
The band of pattern that runs along the bottom of each piece incorporates elements from the Mini Moderns Paisley Crescent wallpaper – a hero print from the Buddha of Suburbia collection, which fuses images of British domesticity with influences from India.
The collection comprises storage pots, a butter dish, measuring jugs, a milk pan and a kettle, in shapes that are simple and fuss-free with beech wood lids and handles. Colours are taken from the Mini Moderns signature palette: Mustard, Tangerine Dream, Chalkhill Blue and British Lichen.
Mark and Keith of Mini Moderns say: “when we were putting the range together we were keen to embody the spirit of the Scandinavian pieces we’ve collected over the years, whilst ensuring it retained a fresh, contemporary feel. We love the way the cosy domesticity of the house print – one of the hidden elements in our Paisley Crescent wallpaper – contrasts with the crisp block colour of the enamelware pieces.”
The packaging for the range is based on another current Mini Moderns favourite – Peggy wallpaper. This pegboard inspired design is used to evoke the kind of utilitarian ironmonger or hardware store that would have originally sold such enamelware pieces.
