Wild and Wolf named winner of Gift of the Year 2010

Wild and Wolf has won in national industry awards Gift of the Year 2010.

The Bath based company have won in the Children’s category for their Ladybird Collection Activity Kits.

Gift of the Year Awards are only given to the latest, most original and innovatively designed products.  However, entrants also have to demonstrate that their product is commercially viable.

This is the second award for the Ladybird Collection, with flasks, mugs, plasters and notebooks winning the Branded Character Category in 2009.

Jon Cameron MD of the company said “It’s terrific for us to receive an award for the second year in a row particularly as they are judged by buyers and retailers within the industry.  It’s an acknowledgement of the hard work done here by the design and production team”.

Wordsworth - Out on the streets on Bath

Wordsworth, the Wild and Wolf Lion of Bath, has finally been put out on Union Street, Bath. Covered in over 6,000 wooden Scrabble tiles, he's caused quite a stir in the city centre location, with passers by stopping to read the different themes.

Before leaving for Union Street, Wordsworth was placed on a wheeled plinth, which makes him a lot easier to move as he's so heavy. We took a quick picture in the sunshine before he went out.

Wordsworth will be out on location until October 2010, so please pop along and see him if you live nearby! Otherwise, we'll keep you updated on the Wild and Wolf website.
Lions of Bath Press Day - Wednesday 19th May 2010

Taking place in the beautiful gardens of the Royal Crecent Hotel, the Lions of Bath Press Day previewed around 25 lions, including Wild and Wolf's lion, Wordsworth.

Local Bath media were able to see a varied selection of lions, including an Elvis Lion, a bejeweled, regal Lion and even a chocolate Lion wrapped in gold foil.

Wordsworth enjoyed all the attention, especially from Gold medalist Amy Williams who even posed for a photo with him. Journalists also took time to discover the different themes on the lion, including countries of the world, song lyrics and famous places around Bath.

The Wild and Wolf Lion of Bath

Wild and Wolf have sponsored their very own lion as part of The Lions of Bath 2010.

Further to the extremely successful King Bladud's Pigs of 2009, a 100 strong pride of lion statues are to be placed around the world heritage site of Bath from May to October 2010. With over 500 images of lions around the city, the most significant lion can be found on the City of Bath Coat of Arms, which represents the crowning of King Edgar, the first King of England in Bath 973AD.

As the world's most popular literary game, having been sold in over 180 countries, Scrabble is instantly recognisable and known by millions. The 6ft long Lion of Bath will be decorated with thousands of wooden Scrabble tiles in a mosaic style, provided by licensing partner, Mattel.

In October, the lions will be auctioned off for charity, with proceeds going to a number of local charities in the Bath area, as well as a percentage to be put back into future art projects in Bath.

The Wild and Wolf Lion is currently being decorated and we can't wait to see the finished product! We'll keep you updated with our progress and post a picture when 'Scrabbs' is complete.
